Ruth is an excellent writer. I particularly remember her ability to turn internal, formal, jargon-heavy university documents into language that was accessible and relevant to students. She wrote eye-catching and pertinent press releases in order to present matters of university or government policy to stakeholders in an informative way. Ruth’s work led to a significant increase in student involvement when she was President of Edinburgh University Students’ Association.
