July already! Goodness me, how did that happen? This year seems to be galloping along at an incredible pace.
It has been a very busy year for me so far, with a great combination of shorter one-off projects and longer tasks that I can really immerse myself in. I hope the second half of the year continues in the same way – although perhaps with fewer family medical dramas. Thank you to all my wonderful clients for your patience and flexibility as we worked through that tricky little spell.
It’s always fun to take a moment and reflect on the variety of work that has come across my desk, and this update is no exception.
I’ve been really lucky to continue working with CSIRO on a number of different pieces across their business units. That has included:
- A post about the use of AI in conservation science
- A post about the important of regional voices in land management
- A post about what can be learned through international researcher exchanges
- A post about lithium ion battery recycling
- A post about CSIRO’s work on carbon management
I also worked on a CSIRO piece placed in Energy Magazine about the history of solar cells and I’ll have another few CSIRO pieces to share in my next update.
Away from the national science agency, I’ve continued to work with Brand Tasmania, and wrote a really fun piece for their website about Kate Mooney the Wombat Whisperer. A second piece I wrote for Brand Tasmania focused on Charlie Davis and his family, who operate the Flinders Island Abattoir.
I also did some work with RACT for their magazine Journeys. An article about the best 4WD experiences in Tasmania appeared online, while an accompanying piece about sustainable and responsible off-roading appeared in the print copy.
Other clients I’ve worked with in the last few months include Freycinet Resort, Business Events Tasmania, Sexual Assault Support Service, and Merri Creek Management Committee.
Thank you to every single one of these clients for choosing to work with me!
