Copywriting, Feature Writing

June 2026: some recent(ish) work

Well, this year seems to have run away from me!

Shockingly, this is my first work update of 2026. My year started with a beautiful family holiday to Aotearoa New Zealand and since then it has been a constant stream of projects, ranging from short blog posts and social media captions, to mid-range features and articles, and a few much longer reports.

As a copywriter, quite a lot of my work is behind the scenes and comes without a byline, but I’ll share a few pieces below to showcase the diversity of clients and projects I’m lucky enough to have!

First, a few more of my Brand Tasmania profiles are now up on their website. All three of these are from the Tasmanian Women in Sport series, which was great fun to work on.

Next up, some work for another long-term client, CSIRO.

Some rare editorial work! I’m still disappointed that RACT Journeys has moved to digital-only – I miss my quarterly copy arriving in the mailbox – but it’s still a lovely publication to write for and always provides me with an excuse to speak to some interesting Tasmanians!

Merri Creek Management Committee are another delightful client, focused on ecological restoration and protection of an extensive creek that runs through Melbourne.

I had a couple of pieces in their most recent newsletter:

More recently, I’ve worked on the copy for their end of year financial appeal. That has included web copy, newsletter stories, and a range of emails – I am anxiously keeping an eye on their running total and hoping they smash the $40,000 target!

I have two other project updates that I think are okay to share here, even though they both came without a byline. The first is that a website I wrote the copy for – Orana Enterprises, a Tasmanian harvesting and haulage company – is now live. I’m really grateful to Launceston-based designer Abbie-Rose Foley for giving me the opportunity to work on this one. It was a lesson in patience, as Abbie first approached me about the site in 2021!

And the second was a really inspiring project to write some client stories for DoDay, a strength training program in Hobart that is welcoming and accessible for a whole range of people with different motivations. The only thing they have in common is a belief that strength feels good.

There have been a few other projects going on this year that aren’t available for me to share yet.

They have included proofreading a non-fiction book, copyediting a business proposal, writing a series of environmental case studies, drafting the web copy for a new consultancy, and contributing a few chapters to a coffee table book on scientific research (!). Hopefully I’ll be able to share all of those with you in the fulness of time.

In the meantime, the Tasmanian winter is well and truly with us so it’s time to tuck in, layer up in cosy clothes, and make yourself a mug of something warm and delicious.

Thanks as always to my clients for their ongoing support.
