Monday 22nd March was World Water Day – a valuable opportunity to reflect on how lucky we are here in Tasmania to enjoy an abundance of water, and also a time to acknowledge that not everyone in the world is so fortunate.
It was a privilege to speak to Catherine Wheatley, founder of the Water for the Village, for a blog post that was published yesterday on the Hydro Tasmania website. The post, which is titled It takes a village, details some of the work that Catherine’s charity does building wells for villages in Ethiopia.
It’s an inspiring story, and so good to see a larger organisation like Hydro Tasmania giving something back to the community.
